My Time to Craft Challenge
For My Precious Daughter--
This valentine was created for my daughter Jenny
with a poem that I wrote for her inside:
A daughter is a special gift
that comes from God above
He brought you into my life
so I would have a baby girl to love.
That love is ever-present
no matter where you go
It’s north and south; east and west
wherever the wind does blow.
So, on this special Valentine’s Day
this wish is meant for you
to send love and hugs and kisses
Just for being you!
This card has special significance because this past Christmas,
my daughter sent me roses. I took a picture of them and added an
image of a woman from a classic painting to create this card.
I then used commercial paper for the background as her
favorite colors are black and red.
Happy Valentine's Day, Jen!
Love, Mom

A Love So True
These 2 pieces were created using altered art that I created with images from the Graphics Fairy. Then, I used commercial papers, tulle, cheese cloth, and embellishments. Flowers are from Prima flowers. This Valentine's Day, I wanted an opportunity to play with a red and black combination so that I could incorporate flocked black and white paper into the overall designs.

In the land of enchantment
It’s where we find our dreams
not across the river
nor across the streams.
For this place is imaginary--
made for only you and me
we go there in our togetherness
where the stars meet the sea.
Reaching out beyond the ordinary
to a place that’s ours alone
you take me on that journey
to heights I’ve never known…
I took your hand in marriage
You took my heart in yours
Together we can weather
whatever life has in store.
For that enchantment lives inside
the hearts of those who truly love
It was placed there very carefully
and came from God above.
So, I make you a promise
that I’ll meet you there each day
and that the magic in my heart
will never go away.
I caught a glimpse of it that first night
when we danced out in the rain
and dared to care and cared to share—
no, we would never be the same.
For that was the beginning
of two lives that would unfold
and come together as one--
their unique story to be told.
So even in the day-to-day
when life’s curves are thrown our way
we can reach that elusive, special place
that no one can take away.
Happy Birthday.
Love,
Cindy
