Art Challenges 8
A few years ago, I was in Washington D.C. visiting my son. We went to an outdoor museum which was built in honor of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. At the museum was a statue of President Roosevelt, as well as his beloved dog, Fala.
My son’s dog named Buddy, a black Labrador walked over to the statue of Fala, sat down, and started hanging out. We snapped a picture.
Sadly, 2 years ago, Buddy passed away. Buddy was 17 years old and a big part of
my son’s life. So, I recently created this piece to honor him. Both dogs' figures are very
faded to indicate that they made the transition to “the other side.”
To me, that museum moment was a true example of “just hanging out,” so I wanted to share it with you.
