I created this altered art piece to honor the St. Bernard Project in
gratitude for their dedication and hard work throughout the
community of St. Bernard Parish--Happy Holidays to Liz McCartney, Zack Rosenburg, and the scores of volunteers who have worked so hard to help rebuild the parish!

Happy Holidays from
my home to yours!
This altered art piece was created as a special tribute
to everyone at Entergy in Chalmette--I love you all!
Thanks for making our Christmas bright!

Saturday Surprise--"Home for the Holidays"
Mixed Media Monday Theme--"Frosty"
Brag Monday--The Graphics Fairy
For these challenges I used a photograph of my home taken last year when it snowed just prior to
Christmas. That was quite an event in this area as New Orleans usually enjoys mild weather
during this season. With that photograph, I created an altered art image using a little girl
from the Graphics Fairy.
Then, it was time to get out the hot glue, embellishments (including metal snowflakes by
Spare Parts), organza and satin ribbons, buttons and begin embroidering also. I decorated a
candle and created a 3-dimensional piece using the lid of a large, octagonal-shaped Christmas
box using the picture. My goal was to make the box as glitzy as possible while still maintaining
a Victorian look when it was completed.
Thanks for looking!
