Bathing Beauties--Tutorial
Mixed Media Piece

I have a penchant for mixing animal prints with
antiques and collectibles throughout my home.

This wooden box is my way of welcoming
summer and keeping vintage alive.

Simple--easy--fun!  Time-consuming, but hey,
isn't that part of the magic of the creative process?

Made with commercial embellishments,
as well as images from The Graphics Fairy
(thank you Karen!)

This project began with a plain cardboard
box and a digital piece that I had created
using images from The Graphics Fairy.
The box was covered with commercial paper.
Next, the image was affixed to the top.
Finally, organza ribbon, Prima flowers, as well as commercial
stickers of stamps were attached...(The flowers are actually
burgundy, but appear hot pink in this photo.)

Mixed Media Box--Tutorial
Inside of box.
Close-up of Inside
A special "hello" to Jan and
those who visit her wonderful site!
It all begins with a simple box.
Keep going to see how it changes...
Working from the inside out, papers are cut and positioned and
the pictures, ephemera, and embellishments are added...
Finally, the front of the box is created...It is the
part that says "Open me and see what's inside!"
And last but not least, my little
Maltese Jamie wants to send a
big "hi" to Babbette...

Oh gosh, is it possible that he
now has an online girlfriend?
